After reflecting on her childhood summers filled with days of swimming and fun, Elizabeth was thinking of ways to help the local children enjoy their summers, despite being in a pandemic. After considering many options, she decided that one way she could help is by offering private swim lessons. Her experiences have taught her that children learn best in either a one-on-one or small-group setting, along with an environment that they are familiar and comfortable with. She then realized this summer was the perfect time to teach this way. With a passion for teaching swim lessons, owner Elizabeth Benedict, who has over 15 years of lifeguard and swim instructor experience, decided to take the plunge into 716 Swim. Her love for teaching children stretches beyond the pool to the field where she has coached numerous lacrosse teams and into the classroom where she is a New York State certified physical education and special education teacher. Elizabeth hopes to give back to the sport and the community which has given her so much. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries.
